Network

The KOF is involved in various organisations and networks. These include CIRET (Centre for Economic Research of Economic Tendecy Surveys), which is supported by KOF, AIECE (Association of European Conjuncture Institutes), Euroconstruct and EconPol Europe.

AIECE

DownloadAssociation of European Conjuncture Institutes (AIECE) is the association of European economic research institutes. Most of the economic research institutes in Europe are members in the AIECE. The purpose of AIECE is primarily the regular exchange of information. Twice a year, the institutes meet to discuss the economic situation in Europe, the economic outlook and current economic policy issues. At these conferences you will find reports concerning the global economy, commodity markets, international trade and long-term economic developments. In addition, each institution provides detailed macroeconomic forecasts for their respective countries and the international economy.

CIRET

The international association external pageCIRET (Centre for Economic Research of Economic Tendency Surveys) connects research institutions, survey institutions, companies and individuals interested in business surveys and consumer surveys and their data.

The President of CIRET is Prof. Jan-Egbert Sturm, Director of KOF. In addition, the CIRET Office is managed at KOF. It operates the CIRET website external pagewww.ciret.org, manages the administration of the association, supports the editorial process of the external pageJournal of Business Cycle Research published by Springer and organises an international conference every two years together with a local organiser.

EconPol Europe

external pageEconPol Europe – the European network for economic and fiscal policy research - is a network of 14 policy-oriented university and non-university research institutes across 12 countries, who contribute scientific expertise to the discussion of the future design of the European Union. The network’s joint interdisciplinary research covers sustainable growth and best practice, reform of EU policies and the EU budget, capital markets and the regulation of the financial sector, and governance and macroeconomic policy in the European Monetary Union.

The network was founded in spring 2017 by the external pageifo Institute, along with eight renowned European research institutes. A further five associate partners* were added to the network in January 2019. Amongst them KOF.

The foundation of EconPol Europe was made possible by an initiative of the external pageGerman Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF) to intensify and deepen cross-border research and cooperation in Europe. The ifo Institute was commissioned by the BMF to set up this independent network, providing evidence-based policy advice to inform the economic and fiscal policy debate in Europe.
 

Euroconstruct

KOF  is the Swiss member of Euroconstruct, a network of European construction forecasts institutes, which publishes construction reports twice annually.
