Survey of the Use of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT)

Aims/Contents

In 2002 the KOF conducted a survey of the use of information and communications technologies (ICT) in Swiss companies for the second time, in order to determine the extent and manner of use of ICT in Switzerland. Data on the dissemination and quantitative significance of e-commerce for procurement and sales are presented as well. The other results address the benefit that enterprises expect from e-commerce and to the obstacles to this type of transaction. ICT dissemination in Switzerland is also compared with that in other countries. The analysis concludes with some considerations of the type of policies that are capable of promoting the dissemination of ICT.
