The KOF business tendency survey of the manufacturing industry is a monthly poll of Swiss industrial companies from a wide range of industrial sectors that participate voluntarily. Additional questions are asked every quarter. The questionnaires mainly consist of assessments (qualitative questions) of the most recent, present and future business activities.

The individualised results that all participating companies receive each month enable a comparison to be made with other sectors. This report provides succinct information on the current results of the survey. Respondents also receive a quarterly detailed report with a commentary on the results. Members of the Swiss Society for Business Cycle Research (SGK) receive this service too.

The questionnaire can be answered online at http://survey.kof.ethz.ch. You will need a user code and personal password which we will be sent to you after registration. You can test the online survey without obligation. Alternatively, you can participate using a paper-based questionnaire. You can choose your preferred medium during the registration process; changes can be made at any time.
