Data Service

Over the years, the KOF has built up extensive databases of economic statistics with time series using its own data sets (results from economic polling) as well as outside national and international sources. These data sets are regularly updated and, if necessary, edited (e.g., for seasonal adjustments, i.e., eliminating fluctuations due to the season).  The time series are available as annual, quarterly, or monthly data, some even as daily data, in the monetary area, for example.

The time series essentially cover the entire range of economic statistics: macroeconomic accounting (GDP and components), foreign trade, consumption, investments, employment and the labour market, prices and wages, monetary time series (money supply, interest rates, exchange rates).

Indicators by industry are also available, particularly based on business tendency surveys (business activity, new orders, production, capacity utilisation, etc.), also for individual cantons and regions in Switzerland.

Standard and Individual service

External interested parties from research, administration and the private sector can use the standard service (KOF data portal) to access these time series.

The KOF also offers individual service (one-off or periodically) in electronic form by email or FTP, for larger amounts of data.
