Heiner Mikosch
Forschungsthemen
Heiner Mikosch is a Postdoc Researcher at KOF. He completed the Gerzensee Ph.D. Program in Economics in January 2009 and received a Ph.D. from the ETH Zurich in December 2011. Since December 2011 he is a member of the Euro Area Business Cycle Network (EABCN).
In January 2012 Heiner joined the KOF Business Cycle Research Division, where he deals with the economic forecasts for the BRIC economies and for Japan. In his research, Heiner relies heavily on microeconometric panel data and time series methods. His current research comprises the following topics:
• Analyzing the effect of market competition on the Phillips curve based on micro data
• Quantification of news and market sentiment; forecasting in exchange rate and commodity markets
• Business cycle analysis using micro data and Bayesian factor augmented VAR
